Why I love reviewing, rating & sharing photos on Google Maps?

Hello!

when I started, about 2016, sharing pictures from places I’ve been, I never thought that so many people would have a look at them. I really didn’t do it to count views or likes, I only wanted to show nice places, flowers, desserts and food I personally found good, like the following:

But then I began to receive cute mails from Google telling me that more & more people were having a look into my posted pictures, and I found it even more amazing to continue showing people how nice places are.

On 2019 I couldn’t believe when I received this mail telling me (in Spanish) that the views to my pictures had broken a new record for myself of more than 500.000 views!!!

In this digitized days, during a vacation trip for example, we are able to connect our Smartphone to the car. So we see our loved Google Maps interface we are used to on the central screen, instead of any other strange Navy screen. We really don’t want to learn to use the system on a car we just rented. We simply use the same verbal commands as on the phone to search for a restaurant or hotel, and then, when I can see how many stars, other uses gave to those service providers, I feel the circle has closed, because I can benefit on a foreign country of all the contributions that my Local Guide colleagues did. This is simply wonderful, and give’s you a security feeling before reserving a room, or going to a restaurant. This is an advantage, that our parents, couldn’t even dream about, on those days when we traveled with a paper map on our hands…

My final words are to encourage all readers to share & rate more and more, to make this world a place we can trust thru sincere opinions! Thank’s to Google for giving us a platform to do this!

Thank’s you for reading.

Hi @amlange

Thank you for sharing this with us.

This post is your Connect Live 2019 application and these application posts should have been in Local Stories. Because I do believe your post fits best into that category I am moving it there.
