If you are around checking a map I might probably come closer, smile and ask you, “may I help you?” 
I think this is what has made me a passionate Local guide; I enjoy helping people finding their way; being more precise, their way to the right place based on their preferences and tastes!
By sharing with Google Maps my favourite places or the places that I avoid I help the people who visit my country enjoy as much as possible their stay.
