Sometimes a questions are loaded with intent; why do I love google maps? Clearly, a lot of people are asking that right now due to the contest. This contest has granted the ability to inform strangers and friends about some high quality places. Not to mention, I get to practice my photography every day, and step out of my comfort zone EVERY DAY. I’m speaking with business owners, I’m helping my small town earn money, and almost bringing tears to their eyes when I inform them it’s completely free. I love Kentucky, but we are behind in some aspects of the digital world. I’ve added businesses that are months to years old that people had no idea how to drive too. The neighboring counties have the same disadvantages as well. Corbin, our neighboring town; home of the original KFC, has businesses that are not marked. I have the ability, time and promise to contribute and help my country, state and county. By adding reviews, photography, granting links, phone numbers, addresses and just a honest review about a business without accepting any kind of legal tinder/exchange leaves me smiling. With Google’s abilities, I will be able to flag places tourists would have never known to exist.
My grandmother, a retired teacher, has always taught me to have a hunger for knowledge. With her guidance and support over the years, I’ve grown up to have a charitable virtue about myself. Together we collected pop tabs for 10 years with help from our friends, communities, and myself doing a lot of leg work; donated 2 and a half 5 gallon jugs to a child who had lukemia. My Instagram name is poptabs86 for this very note worthy achievement. I’ve made perler Bead toys for children at the Shriners. I am not boasting, but letting it be known that there would not be a second allowing you to think I am not capable of being a valuable asset to this program. Kentucky needs your help, I need your help, and most importantly, America needs Google’s help. Thank you, and thank you for the time.
