Hello All… This is my first post on Local Guides Connect. I come from a small city named Hanumangarh (Rajasthan, India).
I realized that there are several important shops and places in my city which are not added to Google Maps. Maybe this is because people navigate by asking people around and not by using GPS over here. But the scene is rapidly changing because of affordable data plans and 4G technology.
To my surprise, there was an option of adding missing places and doing edits to the existing places.
I tested it out by added my house on the map as it is a landmark in the locality. This way general public that use the map can contribute to it and details can be much more than official government data.
I regular take my kid to nearby parks and try to add pictures of rides available over there. This would help others who are trying to decide which park to visit next.
The Local Guides Connect program may help me discover new friends and improve the way contribution is done to Maps.
