Living in the Marvelous City for some few years, where I even became a mother - two years ago - everything is a reason to look at the city with tourist eyes (and mother´s eyes also) - yes … even after three years living in Rio de Janeiro, and counting.
I confess that I am not the kind of mother who is always looking for events and places specifically focused on kids.
In fact, I choose to enjoy the City in what is peculiar to it, such as: abundant and exuberant nature, beaches, islands, museums and historic buildings, many parks and green squares.
In addition, since my husband and I like to go to restaurants and cafes that we do not know yet, all of this is part of my contributions, with regard to kids as well.
I observe all the details that contribute to a good experience, such as access, environment, service, the existence of a kids’s chair, menu and kids’s room - not that these last two items are essentials for me.
However, and since we are in the 21st century, there is one item that I usually still miss in some places I go, and I consider very importante, which is the diaper changer in the public bathrooms, family bathroom or nursery room.
I really believe that all a child needs to enjoy anywhere is the attention and affection of the parents, but, in fact, there are things that contribute so that the whole family has a good experience and creates incredible memories.
So, thinking in people who are living in the same moment that my family is, and because I miss contributions with this type of information on Google Maps, I created the list Rio de Janeiro with kids .
I do think that more reviews with that kind of information are a win-win, for the families, the bussiness´, and for the little ones as well.
