Why I like sharing on Google Maps?

I feel helpless when I find no photos or reviews of a place I want to go (for like trekking, camping etc.) There are many sites which do provide some photos and how to reach the place but such websites are are mostly those which offer travel packages to such places and therefore are biased. What visitors want is an unbiased or honest look of the place. That’s where my inspiration comes from. An honest opinion and do’s and don’ts of the place is what helps the visitors, I believe. That’s why I try adding photos and review the place.

For instance, I had to stay in a PG (paying guest house) when in an internship at Delhi. My friends and me got a very bad deal for the rent. We had no idea there were better and less expensive ones in the lane just behind until it was late. I reviewed it later.

In another case, it was my first trip to a place where there is snow. I found many websites which gave details enough to reach that place, but none mentioned how one could have ruined their experience if they weren’t careful enough. My friends and I rented clothes to visit these places and the clothes did not meet our expectations. I was strongly compelled to start a blog where I could write about my trips and mention such petty details which could save visitors from such annoying experiences, and I did!

This is what we shot at 4200mts on a nearby mountain at Rohtang pass near manali

This is my blog. I try to write when ever I get free time. (https://stepsofwanderlust.blogspot.com)

I also try to review and answer questions on maps whenever I get a leisure. Once, I had to order a take out at a restaurant and not all restaurants have websites or partnership with delivery services. So I went and looked at menu over there and uploaded the photos of the menu. I bet it would have helped many. (https://goo.gl/maps/kr9YX6VdwEU2 - 900+views!)

So, you see, these things may seem small, yet they contribute how one can make informed choices about their life.
