Taking my time to take photos of new places I visit and posting them usually enhances my travel experience in several ways:
First, taking photos usually makes me more aware of my surroundings. I tend to notice much more because I’m always looking for photos. I’m looking at the tops of buildings, down side streets and even on the ground. Once you begin looking for photos, you see much more of the world than if you are just walking through it.
Secondly, taking photos also helps my ability to remember things and places.I’ve looked back on the images I captured and posted and I’ve been mentally taken back to moments that I hadn’t remembered in years. As time passes, you need things to jog your memory and nothing works better than photos that you took yourself.
Lastly, the photos I do take and post actually help other users to get more information about the places. They are usually more interested in the location itself. For that reason, I often focus on taking better image that people will actually be interested in seeing.
I always do my photography with a smartphone. I do pay careful attention to my surroundings and also take my time and effort to create beautiful images.
