Why I Like Being a Local Guide in Tempe AZ

I first have to admit that I didn’t seek out being a local guide. Adventure and trying new things has always been some what of a hobby of mine. Then sharing my experiences has sort of been a second hobby of mine. Google has provided me with a vehicle that i naturally fell into.

Driving in my car, I normally pass a place and think, " I have to try that place." Usually a small shop in a complex that is very unexpecting grabs my attention like metal to a magnet. When I go in, it may not be a fancy seating area but what I know I stepped into is someone’s passion. A place they are invested in and want to show the world their passion. When I talk to whoever takes my order I get what they feel is their pride and joy and that I must try it.

When the food comes out and it is amazing and I know I found something that everyone should know about. That is when I love being a local guide. I get to be a voice for this small unsuspecting establishment and

I have to say I started out the same way. I partially wanted to let others know if I’d found a good spot, but also wanted to keep track for myself of which places are worth coming back to. Especially in Tempe, with new places popping up all the time, and competing businesses going up across the street from one another.

Then one day my dad and brothers revealed they’d all been doing the same. It was downhill from there as we started to compete for contribution points each month! Google local guides has kind of been a way since then for all of us to bond over reviewing places & some friendly family competition. :slight_smile:
