Why I like adding small businesses from deep rural areas to Google Map

Our current world is changing and the technology changes now and then, the forth Industrial Revolution is near which includes: robotic, artificial intelligence, nanotechnology, quantum computing, biotechnology, the internet of things (IOT), decentralized consensus, 3Dprinting and autonomous vehicle.

I would like to talk about autonomous vehicle and their communication, for them to exist or travel around they must first know where they are, then they can know where they are going with minimum limitation on the map which may be boundaries or not updated map with relevant information to be accessed by the vehicle such as destination.

Limitations may include: parking bays, shortest routes, recommended routes and alternative routes during road traffic, natural disasters or road accidents and road constructions. For now logistic companies want to use this system to transport goods locally, in cities, townships, rural areas, national and international. If Google Map can only be updated in big cities and leave behind the rural areas, this will cause development to take longer to reach the whole world and other corners of our countries which limits access to technology and service delivery to some parts of the world.

This is why I love adding small business into Google Map as most of them in big cities are already on the map, they only need to be updated if they have relocated, renovated, changed contact details, such as phone numbers and website. My main purpose is to create balance between deep rural areas and big cities, so that these two places are equally, easy accessible and their businesses are fully updated or a change is updated immediately as it occurs on Google Map.

Where I come from it is a rural area, places that are on the map are only government institutions which are not updated, or Well-developed businesses are those which are operated by educated owners. I like to add new small businesses and upload their details such as photos, 360 photos, videos and write reviews, recommend them if necessary using hash tags (#) in reviews, add contact details and website if possible.

To existing businesses which are well developed, I like to update their location such as reporting photos that are not photos of that place, edit written reviews as time goes by, add new photos and videos for angles that were not captured by previous local guides or customers to give more details. All this information can be used when you want to decide which business to spend on and knowing how much to spend based on their legit service delivery and how they treat customers, if it is easy accessible for old people, wheel chair users, pets friendly or baby friendly, indicate the business busy hours. It is crucial to update the business if it has moved, closed down, renovated or upgraded.

By doing so we are helping Google Map users to make informed decisions without them having to travel around trying to search for the same type of business that provide the best cheap service than the others and compare them after that, by using their smartphone or Computers, they can access all this information either at home, gym or work and save their time, energy, fuel or money for something useful like spending it with their loved one. After using this information and decided where to go and they will be knowing how much they will spend for that service by knowing how much that service or product cost.

Updating Google Map is the same as documenting the whole world as it helps to get statistics information based on businesses that are opened and running in each and every city or country, what type of service or product they sell or produce.

Hi @helga19 , thank you for reading and commenting on my story, I am trying by all means to make a difference or break the barrier and creating equal opportunities between rural and big cities.

The flood did affect some of my local people and others were reported dead or missing, I am safe with my family, where we live it is of higher ground and it is build very nice to create better drainage system, preventing the water to do any damage. Thank you for asking!

It’s in good condition in most part, but some cities have been hit by natural disasters including my city. On Friday April 26, the extreme weather caused severe flood and landslide in Bengkulu and the neighboring cities. The recovery processes have been being conducting. How is going there @Raphael-Mahumane ?
