As I continue to travel and experience different places and even cultures within my country, I find it jarring how so many people don’t know the wonders found in the interior of this country, Mexico.
The point of my gallery as a local guide is to show my conationals how many astounding places, buildings and traditions can be experienced without the need to travel abroad, from small establishments in Dolores, Hidalgo like Hotel CasaMia and Hotel Bamboo in Campeche, to lesser known colonial buildings like la Parroquia de la Inmaculada Concepción in Jerez, Zacatecas; without forgetting to mention the collections of museums, the food served at family-owned restaurants or funny details in the places I’ve visited.
I think that getting to know the environment you inhabit is a right everyone should have, even if they cannot physically get themselves there, that is the reason why I use panoramic shots, photo-spheres, close ups and even Dutch angles when I take pictures, so that other people can become knowledgeable of the things that are present and rarely advertised.
I’ve never wanted to be the star of my contributions, that’s why I don’t appear in any shot, people don’t google these awesome places to see my face covering the stunning backgrounds.
What I love the most about sharing content in Google Maps is to present my country to others, to help business grow through the curiosity of travelers and even locals that haven’t yet discovered those places.
