Today I am going to introduce a century old traditional wrestling competition “Jobbarer (A person’s name) Bolikhela ( ‘Boli’ means a strong person and “Khela” indicates game) ” . I love the event as it is one of the most traditional and ancient competition and a big fair is also conducted as a part of the event. The part of this event, I love most, is the gathering of people selling and buying varieties of products like colorful potteries, wooden furniture, unique and colorful toys, different types of sweetmeats, plants and household materials at a low price.
I have heard about the event from some of friends and we planned to go there on 25th April. The event was holding for the 109th times in Chittagong, Bangladesh for three days. I along with three of my friends started our journey at 10 a.m. However, It was the first time that we have visited the fair and we were facing problems to find out the exact route of the fair. Then, I just used the Google map local guides and reached our destination by following the instructions. Basically, different types of colorful potteries and household materials drew my attention rather than the wrestling competition. I visited the whole fair that was about two square kilometers. I was keeping my track by following the Google map local guides.
I want to share this content as I believe, people will get a chance to buy different types traditional products from here that are usually unavailable in urban areas at a low price and at the same time they will be able to enjoy a century old traditional wrestling competition. This is also a great chance to introduce our culture among young generation.
