Why I Choose to be a Local Guide!

With the advent of smartphones into our world, use of navigation applications to get to know and reach certain places have increasingly become a part of our life. In this context, Local Guides program plays an integral role with its huge database of local guides situated around the globe publishing actual facts and results making the life of common man more easier.

I started my journey as a local guide five years back and there was no turning back for me.Local guide program provided me a platform to discover new places, connect with new people and most importantly: it gave me a chance to guide and help people irrespective of their nationality, race, religion and many other differences labeled in this world. Contributing to google maps gives me a feeling of self appreciation. Local Guides program helps me to connect with people from different parts of the world who share one common motive- Explore, Explore, Explore…!

I recently moved from India to Australia for pursuing further studies. Being a student in a new city, I was very curious about the places I should be visiting, best place for dining out; keeping in my mind about the budget constraints as a student. Going through the various blogs published by fellow local guides on the connect platform immensely helped to know this city in the best and cheapest way. I love the way how this platform for local guides helps people to know the city in their own terms.

Local guide program have developed me into a budding expert reviewer in my community. Recently I was invited by a small business- a bakery ( Lalu`s bakes and snacks ) to try out their lip smacking products and give their business a honest review. I felt elated on this request from the business owner and I was able to help its future customers to better know the place and the must try on their shelf. I want to thank local guides program for giving me a chance to contribute to the community and help millions of people.

One thing that always keeps me going and participate in the local guides program is the perks I enjoy from this program. I am always eagerly waiting for the end of the year during which I receive perks from google. I really love the various badges and accomplishments that I receive on reaching certain milestones and levels in the local guide program. All these factors gives me the energy to explore this small world more and contribute to this program as much as I can.
