Why I care about reviewing fuel stations on Google Maps!

It was getting dark and we were running out of fuel. Nearest Fuel station was 22 km away according to google maps, and we could continue only 4 or 5 km, as per my calculations. It was a remote area, and there were no vehicles, no markets, no people around from where we could expect any help. We were starting to panic, but just then we found one fuel station and we sighed in relief. And guess what? That fuel station was not on maps. Our nearest station was still 20 km away according to maps. But here it was another one. So we got the car refueled and before we started off to our destination, I took out my phone and added the place on google maps. I did so because I hope it may help someone, someday.

I love to go on road trips. In fact, I started using Google Maps in 2017, after I purchased my first car, to navigate around in Delhi as I was new to the place. And then I started understanding the importance of maps. After that, I’ve been on several road trips all over India. Here are a few of the places I’ve been to:

I always try to ensure that my reviews on Google maps contain correct and helpful information. For the fuel stations also, I make sure that they are correctly marked on the maps and try to add details like whether there are any toilets or not, which is another thing I care about reviewing as a female behind the wheel.
