WHY I BECOME A LOCAL GUIDE

WHY DO I BECOME A LOCAL GUIDE?

I have some hobbies that related and fortunately giving me advantage to be a local guide. I like taking pictures, shooting videos, writings, and also yeah, I like to go to somewhere new, somewhere that can give me new experiences, inspirations, and also perceptions. You know… like walking around the city, province, but poorly never abroad because I didn’t have the chance yet, besides I don’t have enough money to make it and I also have to concentrate to finish my master degree, but I hope I can do it someday.

Now I am on level six in Google Local Guides. But for the first time, it was never really my intention to become a local guide. Until one day, I decided to go to one place that I’ve never been there before but I have just a little bit information about the place, so I started to Google it and looking for some information about the place. And it showed me some information from The Local Guides and I started to be interested with it.

Since I like taking pictures and videos, and I also love to write, so I think why wouldn’t I become like anyone of them? Become the local guides? To help the people and share with them about the information of the place(s) that they probably want to go to, help them by my photos or videos, or by the reviews and ratings that I gave. Furthermore, I think it’s what Google Local Guides is all about. To help the people and share with them by the information that we have.

And what makes me proud to be a local guide? It’s when some people notice you, thanked you, liking your photos, videos, or even reviews. It really makes me happy that I can help people and contribute to them.

So, if I wasn’t wrong, Watu Dodol Beach (Pantai Watu Dodol) was my very first place that I reviewed and uploaded some photos in Local Guides. It’s located near my house (approx. 10-12 km). I started to write about how the conditions in the area, how’s my feeling when I was there, my opinions and what I think that needs to be done to make the Watu Dodol Beach even greater and can attract more people to come. And believe it or not, Now Watu Dodol Beach has really changed. It’s even greater than I thought before and It’s one of the landmark of Banyuwangi, my city.

After I started with the places near my house, then I continue to the other places that even further. And not only about places, I also like to review and give my opinion about anything else, like restaurant, hotels, foods and beverages, etc.
