why I am receiving all these 'For you'?

Hi guys

I’m receiving hundreds of offers in the tab ‘For You’ in Google Maps, only for unknowing restaurants

Actually I hate to visit restaurants. The service, the quality, etc., is ridiculous in Bulgaria.
Actually people prefer places with traditional food, live folk music for a diner. But Google maps continue to offer some fancy places with photoshoped pictures, professional shouted dishes and reviews filled with superlatives

I always tap ‘not interest’, but this does help and not stop

I do not know how this AI works, but it’s not working for me.

If this can not be stopped …

Please try to post your pictures with some text in the frame: ingredients, price, taste, etc.

Actually if I need fancy pictures of food, I will use Instagram. I spend less than a second over pictures posted on Google maps. If there is no additional information over the shot, it’s getting more bored.

Hi @user_not_found ,

Maybe this will stop the offers:

Go to the “For You” tab on Maps
Tap on the gear for “Configuration” on the right upper corner
Unfollow all of the areas you’re following

I think that should work, try it if you want and let me know if it helped you : )

Thanks for your question! You can easily follow the instructions suggested by @Jesi how to update your settings and stop receiving these suggestions.

To explain further what the For you tab is, I’m sending over the below details. I hope this will be helpful for everyone on Connect!

Based on your previous contributions, Google Maps is suggesting to you places that might be interesting for you depending on your previous contributions. You have the option to add experiences you discovered to your Want to go list. The For you tab (visible on the photo below) is representing your affinity with the places you rate and write reviews about.

For example, if 90% of your rating and reviews are in a restaurant where they serve Pizza, and 10% in Vegan Restaurants, maps will give to you a higher affinity to Pizza restaurants.
