Why did my points decrease? I did not violate Google Maps policy. My points were 10,800 and now they are 9,400. The number of contributions was 3,000 and now they have dropped by half. Please explain. Google Maps has become a failure and boring. It also does not show the number of image views and you have not solved the problem.

I just opened my personal account… and I don’t really know why the points are so low. Google Map should have sent a justification for this. I don’t really know why the number of points decreased

Please be advised I moved your comment to Views of individual Photos reduced drastically or show zero for new uploads where you can find more information related to your decreasing points.
This thread already contains almost 1300 (!!) comments, with new ones written every day. Many people look up the internet about the issues with the Local Guides program ending up here on localguidesconnect, hoping for answers.
So… why on earth is it soooo difficult to even find this thread? Why doesn’t anyone move this thread to the “Featured Area” on the front page or so?
Is there even a thread with more comments?
Isn’t this topic still current anymore?
Almost nothing has been solved since Feb 7th (and before), except a simple graph which has been disabled and enabled again. That’s why I consider this topic as still super current and important.
I would appreciate if at least localguidesconnect could be a bit more user friendly than Google itself. Shouldn’t be the most difficult task, honestly.
By the way, … any new update on those issues?

@tekino I agree, this thread is incredibly hard to find. Google only wants to highlight their positives. I am sure millions of Google Maps contributors have noticed the photo view issue as well as the many other issues that maps has presented recently. This is likely their new normal, at least until someone from Google steps up and provides clear and productive update. The graph being re-implemented wasn’t exactly groundbreaking, many of us track views via alternative routes anyways. Nearly 3 months now…

@Doaa1988 from my own experience and what I read in other comments, the number of views did decrease only once, on February 6. After that, the views for many photos did increase again, but extremely slowly, while the majority never changed at all since that date.
To me, this doesn’t look like manipulation, but either a bug or an unpublished change of Google’s operations.

@Doaa1988 , the points drops if some of your contributions is removed from the count. But without knowing which one of your contributions is impacted by the drop it would be impossible to give you an answer.
Please provide some details of the list of contributions so that we will be able to help you.

Also I would like to let you know that hijacking other posts that are not related to your issue will not help you to receive an answer. On the contrary, your reply will be most probably ignored, because not related to the content of the thread. So please in the future write your own post if you can’t find a recent one related to your own issue. And feel free to use your own language, as the translator embedded in connect will let everyone to understand your post.

Have you done something differently - did you delete any contributions like photos or reviews? Do you have any idea from which section you are losing most of your points?

@MoniDi @Doaa1988 Just a note what Doaa1988 experience lost points and being dropped a level happened to me and others that posted evidence of this happening all at the same time the picture counts were stuck at zero or slow to be updated. I do not believe this is a separate issue and I don’t believe it is because of users deleting or posting against the rules. Again many are suddenly experiencing loss of points after the Feb bug on loss of image counts.
