I have checked across a couple devices, Ios 15, IOS 14 – iphone 12 pro max, and XR both cannot upload videos to a location.
However i can on my android, and windows PC.
What is going on with this and why cant apple users upload photos?

However, while I’m not sure what specific problem you are having as you haven’t provided full details, please note that to add both photos and videos you use the Add photos option (see this post). You should also make sure that you have the latest update of the Google Maps app.
On iPhone or iPad, to add media like photos and videos for points of interest, like businesses or parks use the procedure outlined in this Google Maps Help document. However, please note that you can’t add media to addresses or coordinates.

There has been several local guides having this issue in recent months. They can not see and select their videos when trying to add a photo.
There might be a general issue at play here.

It isn’t a matter of me not doing the right thing, I’ve used guides a ton and read these. It appears that the feature isn’t available on iPhone users, I’ve spoke to a couple others in town today and their also seeing the same issue.
iPhone users cannot upload videos or even see them when adding photos to google my business locations.

Como pueden ver, una vez que entro al Business Listing y voy a la parte inferior, la app despliega la opción “Add photos or videos”, y despues de eso me permite elegir fotografias o el video que grabé previamente para agregarlo al business listing. Esas fotografias y video las agregué apenas el dia de hoy y el POI es Espacio CDMX, Arquitectura y Diseño.

It is very simple, when you click link “add photos and videos” the iPhone Library opens but ONLY showes the photos and not the videos, so you cannot select any video. I have both softwares updated and it’s been more than 2 years since I cannot upload a single video. It’s really annoying because I am not beeing able to make any contribution (I have been flying drones, which footage can add a different perspective on each location). Still haven’t find a solution anywhere. Thank you very much.
How about selecting the video directly from your phone Gallery and ‘sharing from there to Maps’?

I tried directly from the gallery as you suggest. When I choose a video, google maps does not appear as an option, when I choose a photo it does. It looks like something programmed. I’ll try with a moderator. Thank you very much and have a nice week.

I got Iphone 11, just figured this out today, you cannot share directly from photos library

go to your own profile on google maps

Click on Contribute in lower/bottom menu pane.
3 Click on Add Photos
- All your videos and photos shows up
when you select any video, it automatically tags geo location as place and ready to post.
This is not your normal review process so cannot add comments. It only add 7+ points for each video, if your video was used using geotagging device, google maps should be able to pickup that location, you have an option to select nearest location as best suggestions!
