Why are so many reviews going to appeals?

These past weeks more than a dozen of my reviews have been on hold. Every single one has been reinstated of course once I appealed them but clearly something is going wrong with the automatic (bot I assume) way they are being flagged.

Is there somewhere we can see all our reviews that are not posted because they are flagged? I just discovered one that I didn’t receive any email or message about.

This is a very serious issue which affects the credibility of the whole Google reviews system.

Hi @AlexanderChalkidis , the issue with reviews is global, and not involving only the Google environment.

To explain what’s going on a few days ago I wrote a post: Your review has not been published. Do you know why?

As you can see in there there is ax extremely difficult situation, with possible legal implications in some countries.

It doesn’t mean that Google, or others, are acting on the best way. Everything can, and should, be improved, so feel free to check out the whole thread and to add your feedback/suggestions in there

To respond to your other question, @AlexanderChalkidis , reviews have also been blocked in the past, we just didn’t get any notifications. In fact 1291 of your reviews are private. to see the number you can open your public profile in Maps by opening this link in incognito mode in a browser.

The notification system is very recent, and Google is expanding it to more and more countries, but for previously made private reviews the only way to appeal is to use the form at the end of this post: An update on how we moderate Google Maps reviews .

Please keep in mind that the check may take several weeks (8 in my personal case) and everything that is not against the rules will be released.

Wow, thanks for the info. Clicked that link in incognito mode, can’t find the 1291 number you are referring to though anywhere. Is it the difference between what I see as my reviews and the second number?

Wow! If it is 1568 - 277, that is only 277 of my hard written reviews are actually on air, that is sooooo horrible a feeling for me.

I know that feeling, @AlexanderChalkidis , that’s why I suggest you to appeal asap with this form

There is an hard fight between Google and Fake reviews, and a lot of innocent victims. That’s why Google provided that form

Thank you very much, yes I read all the links and I did the application in that link.

Great, @AlexanderChalkidis , I wish you all the best.

I only want to add a note: it would be extremely helpful of you tag the person you are responding to by using @. Active members and moderators are following a lot of conversations, and they will easily miss your reply if they are not tagged in

@ErmesT ok, this is getting ridiculous! I assume this is done automatically and it flagged the words “tourist trap”.

But if it’s flagging four star positive review from an experienced local guide, it must be flagging loads of other stuff incorrectly too.

My feeling, @AlexanderChalkidis , is that once the AI has identified us as potential spammers the only thing to do is wait for the entire profile to be reviewed. Exactly the same thing happened to me, and a review was blocked even if I only gave a rating (five stars). After verifying the profile (fingers crossed) I haven’t had any more problems

@AlexanderChalkidis

Si crees que tus reseñas son genuinas le mando un enlace para que pueda reportar a un nivel superior y que si comprueban que son genuinas supongo que unos días se lo restaurarán.
