Why am I not getting a fact check on Google Maps?

I am presently a level 7 guide but I don’t get to verify facts at all. It always says that I’m caught up. But I’m sure that there are stuff around my place that needs to be verified because I constantly see that there are many edits in the maps for places around me. So I’d like to know what could be the possible issue for this.

Is there a problem in the facts checking?

This is a screenshot of the screen that I see 6 months.

@RazBarak this is definitely not something linked to your specific account on Google Maps, but rather a general problem. Google has changed the way this fact checking module works and the result is indeed that you hardly ever get ot see anything there.

Are you living in a more rural area? Then you could try to check “Check the facts” part when you are visiting a city. What can/will be shown there depends on the location where you are, so in cities there is a bigger chance.

Hi @RazBarakWelcome to Connect! If this is your first visit, you’ve come to the right place. This post will serve as a guide for everything you need to know about contributing content and engaging with the Local Guides community on Connect”. This is the first of the information that you will find in “Your guide to Connect” , the introductory Guide of the community. In there you will find all the necessary information to know how to better contribute in here.

First of all I want to inform that I merged your two posts about the same subject.

Regarding your question, as you can read in https://support.google.com/maps/answer/7186667Specific edits are suggested to you based on your Location History and Search History**. If you don’t have your location info turned on, you can’t enter moderator mode.

It means that Google maps is suggesting you edits only about places you are supposed to know, and not just every place around you, like it was in the past.

Do you have a doubt about how to do something? The Help desk is here for you, with a long list of post with detailed indications on how to post.

Which kind of contents we share in the community? What are Connect topics? will give you an explanation

Hi @RazBarak

In practice is it currently not possible to check facts for the Factfinder badges.

You may find my post on How to check some facts - these days! helpful.
Also, please pay special attention to this update.

Cheers

Hi @JanVanHaver @ErmesT @MortenCopenhagen

I think it is good to write a general post in this case and merge all such posts from the past and future into that general one.
