Hey @JonLittleton ,

Thank you for reaching out.

During the COVID-19 situation, there may be some temporary limitations on public contributions as we prioritize critical services. More information you can find here, as @SebaasC mentioned.

How long do we have to wait? Is there a guarantee that it will be appears? Is this a bug for everyone or just people with specific activities or restrictions?

Google is of course complying with Homeland Security directive to control the flow of information. It literally is censorship of the worst possible kind. It’s not Google’s place to provide accurate information it’s Google’s place to provide information that I’m seeking and it’s up to me to determine whether or not it’s accurate or not.

Quite simply Google is taking the right away from you to determine what is correct and what is not by your own determination.

Why am getting this message today when posting a review when the Answer you provided states that on

“May 18, 2020 at 9am PT We’re happy to share that reviews and photos are being published on Google Maps for all countries.”

I got points for the written review and photos shared but this message still popped up. I can see the review if I log out. But I don’t know if it’s being posted.

Hi @Bobiisha how are you?

I want to ask you why my response of the question of this post wasn’t mark as the solution of it.?

If I’m not wrong was the first one and the right one.

I have seen this post again cause there is a new comment of a fellow Local Guide.

Thanks in advance.!

I think because, it is a “link only” answer.

I’ve participated in lots of online forums and I think I can help you understand the issue. There are many problems with link-only answers and some online communities will not even consider these as an answer. First, the link may die making the answer obsolete. Next, many people find it lazy to say “here is where you can find the information, read it yourself,” particularly when they don’t even know if the answer is correct or not (it may be a waste of time).

One thing you can do is copy and paste the actual answer (like, a few sentences) from the page or a paraphrased version with a link provided and place the pasted information in quotes or italics to indicate that the information is from another source and not your own words.

Otherwise, if you take just a few seconds to put the answer in a few words and also provide a link to the information as well, you will usually get a good response from other users. In the end, this is probably the easiest way to do it. This method usually receives the best response from the online community.

I hope this helps!

Hi @VioletBeauregarde !

Thanks for your comment!

However I’m not agree with you.

If the complete answer requieres a link to a post , sometimes is better than a long response.

I give to the fellow Local Guide the correct answer with a link and with a short comment, and this in my opinion ( sometimes) is enough .

In addition to this, is not the first question I have answered to help a member or the community with a link to a post.

Thanks again for your comment.

Have a nice day!

It’s sad to see businesses using this opportunity to be in their worst behavior possible. I wrote 2 1-star reviews 3 days ago and they are not published to public yet (one claimed and one unclaimed). But one of my 5-star review published next day. I think Google wants “viewing user generated content has a positive, beneficial experience” according to Maps User Contributed Content Policy. It bothers me.

Yeah, I think you may be on to something. They announced reviews were allowed to show up again… Yet I just left a not-great review and somehow it’s delayed. It wasn’t profane, untrue, or at all inappropriate so I’m pretty annoyed about this “delay”. Anyone know why they’re still using the “your contribution may be delayed” message when they already said they’re done with the holding back of reviews?

This is happening to everyone and I read and understand why, Google is on a limited staff so they cannot check fake or bot reviews as fast as normal.

I DO understand this BUT I want to know when this will change? Are they still posting our reviews just more slowly? Or are all of our reviews just held up indefinitely?

So I understand why the reviews don’t show (COVID and short staff at Google) but I don’t know when this will change and I want to know. I also want to know if they are posting our reviews but just more slowly to verify or if they are not posting them at all until later.
