I had to visit a local auditorium to attend a function away from my home town recently. It was located nearly 2km away from the nearby railway station (I came to know this after I reached there). Even though I had to struggle a lot to find the place. Literally, I had to hire a taxi for a walkable distance. At that time, even Google Maps couldn’t help me to spot the location.
Actually, this drove me to become a Local Guide on Google Maps. I wish nobody should spend or get cheated in an unfamiliar place. I wish to add each every unnoticed spot to the maps. So that anyone can find their destination easily on Maps.
This an important town bus stand in Kerala. I have added this photo recently which have got 66K+ views and counting. This itself shows the relevance of adding this place in Google Maps. This bus stand was kept unnoticed by the passengers since then.
Since the Internet/Smart Phones penetration is growing like anything in India. Everyone relay on Google Maps even the Rikshaw Valas to identify their destinations by adding more and more local spots on Google Maps. It makes life easier for my fellow beings. I find satisfaction in helping people as a proud Google Local Guide.
