I have clicked some pictures of a heritage site in Bhopal, the place is already listed on Google Maps but there is no option to Add photo to that place. It also shows that the place is in some premises, which i guess is not correct, as i ave personally visited the place. Here is the location’s link for the helpers to understand the situation better.
Hi @s_tariq , this place is not a POI, according to what I can see it appears to be a map location. Maybe an old incomplete edit from map makers.
I suggest you to send a feedback to the Google Maps Team following this procedure. Steps to send us feedback
It may take time to fix it, but I think this is the only way
Hi @s_tariq ,
Thanks for reaching out.
In addition to the answers given above, I would like to let you know that I will relabel your post to the How-tos section of Connect. This is the place where you may ask questions, share feedback and tips.
Thanks
sure…
Thanks for your quick response @ErmesT but the place link i shared is a POI and is also a heritage spot too… but still its being restricted from adding photos. And not only this place i came across one more place which i visited and clicked pictures of, its a big museum nearby, people visit this one too regularly, it even has a ticketing counter as its public place. but even that place has not option to add photos, though there are already some 250+ photographs, And i’ve also shot some very good detailed pictures of this place 2 days back, but google not letting me add pictures to this place as well… see this place on this link…
Hello @s_tariq
Sometimes, uploading of a photo doesn’t become available when there is excessive spamming.
However, the place you are referring to doesn’t appear to be like that.
I find duplication of the same POI at this place.
One is Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalay & other is Manav Sangrahalay. The pin location is nearby & the address is also the same.
However, the place you are referring to does not appear in a search.
I suggest you add your photos to the first place as the app allows to do so. Further, if you have visited the place recently, you can suggest merging of both the POI, once the “Temporarily closed” label disappears.
Hi @s_tariq this issue is already well known and there is also a workaround, described there by @LuaPL : just use G photos on your phone - and you’re done
[unfortunately that post is not marked as solution…]
@ErmesT @C_T @MashaPS still my suggestion to Google: to transform these ancient areas from the Map Maker times into regular POIs [the formerly thread opened by me regarding this suggestion (07-05-2019) was just mixed with the upper thread…]
Thanks a lot @C_T … I did as guided by you… uploaded some of pictures on the another one
@makky , the option mentioned by you is well known, and clearly mentioned on Google Maps help pageAdd, remove, or share photos and videos
The reason why what suggest by @LuaPL in NOT the solution for the post, is well explained on the same, already mentioned, article: “You can’t add photos or videos to addresses.”
Suggesting a workaround to be able to add a photo on a place where you cannot add photos is suggesting a violation of the program rules, hope this is clear. The solution is to fix the issue, @s_tariq , not to bypass the problem. @C_T clearly shows that there is a real POI in there, where you can add the photos. So the right thing to do is to send a feedback to the team, for fixing the place
Hi @s_tariq the first POI you mentioned, the Bara Dari, is it a building? is it an observation tower on top of the hill? it has an octagonal outline, a typical oriental design. @ErmesT is still thinking it’s just a plain address or location and is creating dismatching ideas![]()
yes @makky you are right, its a complete physical structure, not just plain space…
