There might be local or national rules on what you can photograph. You need to investigate locally or ask a local guide in your region about this.
Google also has some rules you should know about.
Before adding new places you need to do a few text searches on Google Maps to make sure the place is not already in the database. Not all places will show up on the map, so you really need to use text search to be sure. Adding duplicates is not helpful.
When taking photos you need to ensure that you are not violating someone’s privacy. Never include recognizable faces in your Google Maps photos. Children and sick people are mentioned as extra sensitive in this matter.
Adding bus stops is not something I would recommend, because the local transport company can do this much better than you - they can ensure the pin will have live timetables and bus departures can be included in suggested trips.
In my culture (I live in Denmark), it is okay to photograph public buildings except for military installations. Maybe you need permission where you live. If in any doubt, please ask before taking photos.
If you share where you live, you might get a mere precise answer.
Cheers
Morten
PS: Adding missing places on Google Maps can be done by anyone. Later the hospital or police station can decide to claim the listing on Google Maps. This will make it easier for them to maintain and change the information about their place on Google Maps.
Tudo bem?
