Last November 2019, I visited an annual fair in Nabiganj under Bandar Thana Narayanganj. According to the name of the shrine, the fair is named “Kadam Rasul Darbar Sharif Annual Fair”. 105 small shops participate in the fair. Shoppers from different parts of the country take part in the fair. Nagardola is one of the attractions of this fair.
About half of month this annual fair stays. People love come & enjoy there with family. Every Friday so many people come there, go here & there. They buy many kinds of product from this fair. “Kadam Rasul Darbar Sharif Annual Fair” is most important occasion in this area. Whole year people are waiting for this event.
About 11 P.M, my friend Hasan Bhuiyan and I went to the “Kadam Rasul Darbar Sharif Annual Fair”. First we saw several food shops there. Shopkeepers are arranging a variety of food dishes. I notice a lot of crowds at food stores. Local sweetmeat “Jilapi” are so delicious to eat.
Kid’s toys are arranged in rows of toy shops. Guardians are crowding around the toy store with their children. Many kinds of toys are available in shops. Children are mostly interesting about electronics toys.
Several shops are home products store. Female person are more interested about this products. Home decorate products are highly demand in the fair.
We keep moving forward. The final prayer was held at 12 P.M. About 8 to 10 thousand people attend this prayer. Every year I attend this fair. However, I have had a lot of fun at this fair.

1. Distance: 27 km from Dhaka city
2. Entry Fee: Zero
3. Every year Eid-e-Milad Un-Nabi (Prophets Birthday) times this fair was held
4. Ideal time of visit: Evening & night times

প্রতিবছর আমাদের এলাকাতেও এমন একটি মেলা হয়। কিন্তু সময়ের অভাবে অনেকদিন হয় যেতে পারি না। ধন্যবাদ ভাই ছোটবেলার স্মৃতি মনে করিয়ে দেওয়ার জন্য।

@MehadeHasan বর্তমানের মেলাগুলো আমাদের একসময় ঐতিহ্য ছিল। ছোটবেলায় মেলায় ঘুরতে যেতাম বিভিন্ন জিনিস কিনতাম। কিন্তু বর্তমানে আর সেই মজা নাই। কিছুদিন আগে আমাদের এলাকায় একটি মেলা হয়েছিল কিন্তু বৃষ্টির জন্য যেতে পারিনি।

@SunMoon present time going so fast. People’s behavior & mentality change so quick. Now village fair are so rare to see. Every time security authorities put push for short time stay. That’s one of the reason, why village fair so rare. Thanks for your valuable comment.

The fair looks really nice @MehadeHasan and with so many great things to buy. I especially like browsing these places for handmade crafts. You always know that these are made uniquely and that you are not likely to find them anywhere else.
Did you buy anything from the fair?
