Who knew my name could fit within the frame. Lucky:face_with_hand_over_mouth: but damn other people really hit it with the ‘B’ in views
Yes there are some hard hitters @Ammarcute , and @TorM , a level 10 Local Guide, with a staggering, well over ONE BILLION photo views! However, when looking at stats like those shown in leaderboards like this, you have to take a number of facts into account. In general terms and all things being equal, if you take into account that logically you’d expect that having a larger total photos view count would suggest that most likely you’ve been a Local Guide longer than, and have more photos and be at a higher Local Guide level than someone with a lower views count. That is, the longer you’ve been an active Local Guide the more likely that you’d have (1) more photos, (2) more photo views, and (3) moved higher up in the Local Guide levels - (more time = more reviews + more photo views and hence more points). So, from this it follows that it would be fairly unreasonable to compare the photo views of say a level 7 Local Guide with that of say a level 10.
In my view it would be more relevant for say a level 7 Local Guide to compare his/her photo views with that of other Level 7s or perhaps the average photo views of all Level 7s! There are always exceptions as for one reason or another, some Local Guides will be performing better than others. For example, @AdrianLunsong , a level 8 Local Guide, has a better total photo views than all of the level 9’s and all but one of the level 10’s on that leaderboard. Does that perhaps say something about the quality or the impact of his photos. Anyway, check out the new Top 100 Photo Views List
My dear @Ammarcute congratulations for your hard work.
My dear @AdamGT congratulations for your hard work.
@AdamGT @Ammarcute I think I’m lucky as well by being in a city (Manchester) with active consumers but not active contributors. That means lots of folks are using Maps to navigate but they are not uploading their photos to Maps. So my photos get to stay a bit longer in the ‘database’ because it gets shoved down by newer photos.
That said, I’ve got some interesting data on how individual photos are performing across months where some older photos have suddenly become popular again! Once Community Live is over, please remind me to write about this!
Side note, I actually prefer using the total views divided by total number of photos as a more reliable metric for ‘quality’ content. But again, there’s a lot of luck involved there too.
Honestly, i’m just glad i made it in a list kekeke
I’m doing cause i get to judge the places i went n maybe improve it hahaha just for the kicks
