Who Has To Mark A Reply(Solution) to A Question Asked By A New Local Guide?

Hello, I wanted to know what happen when you reply to a post which is a question either being the first or the last person to respond with the correct answer that satisfy the person who asked the question especially if the person or local guide is new here, who mark that respond as a solution?

I am asking this question because it happened to me when I was new here, and the person tried to reach out to me asking me to mark the reply as a solution, I did not know how to do that, and even now on my profile when I look I still have that Solutions Unmarked Accepted as shown from the screen short above and I can not trace where it is.

@Raphael-Mahumane in the original version of Connect there was a button ‘Accept as solution’ on each comment to a post you had written. Now, in the new version of Connect, this option is hidden in the menu that opens when you click the 3 dots.

Hi @Raphael-Mahumane

The “solution” can be accepted (or removed) by

  • The author of the post, that in this way wants to inform that he received the correct information
  • A Google or Connect Moderator

If you check on some of your post, you will see, on the post menu, the “Accept as Solution” or “Not the Solution” command.

You will not see this command on post started by others, because every Local Guide have this ability for their own post only

Please read: Tip: How to mark replies as solutions — “Accept as Solution” feature

If a Local Guide give a solution for a post that do not require a solution (Let say: beautiful photo, Ermes) a Moderator will remove that solution

Normally, when a Moderator remove a solution, they also write in the post, tagging the authors of the post, informing that the solution has been removed, and explaining why

@JanVanHaver thanks for helping out.

@ErmesT I can see what you talking about, and all the links you provided helped to clear my mind especially the screen short from the author and the other one. I think I will have to go back to my very first posts to see which post might be the one with reply deserving to be marked as solution. Thank you a lot.

@ErmesT just another question, if a question was answered by a reply and left without being marked as solution, which deserve to be marked as solution, meaning that it does not fall under the types of questions or statements you shared with me.

1. For how long that answered question will remain unmarked as solution?

2. is there any system put into place to look for something like that?

If not, I think there might be a lot of posts which had been answered but they are not marked as solutions, like my one, I just noticed now that this has not been marked, but it has been here for more than a year may be.
