Mostly when I’m traveling abroad I think to myself if I should review in Portuguese or in English. Or if I should make my comments considering the reading of Brazilians or any other person.
Do you feel the same? Do you believe the way you describe a place may be different depending of the audience you intend to hit?

Back to your question, have you tried to check some place in Google Maps, when abroad?
What I see, when I do it, is that the reviews written by Italians appears on the top. This is probably because the setting of my phone are for Italian Language.
For this reason, as my reviews will probably appears to other Italians searching for the same place, I write my reviews in Italian, giving suggestions to Italians that are visiting the place.
What do you choose to do, when you write a review?
I would do one in both laungaugaes if you have the time…
Why not get both audiunces ? Share with as many as you can?

I’m Indonesian. When I write a review, I write for local people. Because locals that mostly use the review I wrote on Google Maps. So I write in Indonesian.
But sometimes I write in English if I consider the place that I review is has foreign visitors. By write in English, I hope my review could help them when they want to spend a visit.
But I think there’s automatic translation available on Google Maps?

What I do is to leave reviews in both my own language and in English. Basically the reviews get translated to your local language automatically depending on which language you’ve chosen for your device.
For example, when I want to add a review about a place in the city centre or the place is really famous among tourists, I post the reviews in English and if it’s in my neighbourhood - I post it in my own language. But I think it really depends on the audience you would like to share it with. In any case the reviews are really helpful.
@Eduardocacata I use to question the same thing and sometimes write reviews in English but ended up choosing to help people that speak my language like @ErmesT and now all of my reviews are in Spanish.
I do still question this when I write the hashtags and most of the time I write some of them in both English and Spanish. I posted an idea to solve problems like this regarding hashtags but I don’t think it will be approved any time soon 
Ernst, I kind of think the same way, it seems more likely that my review will be seen by another Brazilian. However, sometimes I am reviewing some place that I don’t believe will be visited by people from my country, I do it in English. In that case I think I’ll be more helpful talking to other foreigners.
Too much work doing both.
