Hello everyone,
My name is Maria Fernanda Castro, I’m 21 years old, I’m Ecuadorian and I care a lot about sharing photos, reviews and lists about protected areas of Ecuador in Google Maps and Local Guides Connect. Why protected areas? Because in my country there are 56 protected areas scattered in 4 regions, this represents approximately 20% of national territory, doesn’t it sound incredible?
Of course it does sound incredible, but it’s a shame that many people don’t know the meaning of protected areas, the locations, how many and which are. This is reason enough to want to share everything I know and I have, in an amazing tool like Google Maps.
The first protected area I had the opportunity to visit was the Galapagos National Park in March 2013 and believe me, I was very inspired to continue my journey through the different corners of my country. When I came back from my first trip, I was very happy and grateful, I told everything I learned and observed.
The different protected areas of Ecuador, reflect the fantastic biodiversity of a small country in the center of the world and are places where you will find real adventures alone or accompanied. For this reason, I want Ecuadorians and foreigners to find the importance of preserving natural resources, as it will be the surroundings of the next generations where they can enjoy climbing, walking, canoeing, camping, swimming, among others.
I am very happy to share with others on the topic that interests me most, because I believe that protected areas should be preserved by all. For me, it is very gratifying to share information about my country and that other people feel interested to know more.Thank you for dedicating your time in this Local Story and thanks Google Maps for allowing us to share with others, day by day. I take this opportunity to post a very important message I found in a Protective Forest.
My list (Ecotourism in Guayaquil) will be of great help to all those interested in visiting parks, protective forests and protected areas in Guayaquil. Places where you will enjoy and find the importance of preserving natural resources.
Also, I share the video that I made in my favorite place and that is part of the list.
Make every day Earth Day.
