Who adds streets

Hi All,

I’m in Australia and live in an area where roads that are years old are still not updated onto Google maps. Which mapping department in Australia in responsible for uploading the base information into Google? It’s unrealistic to try an add them myself so I think it’s going to be quicker to harass the local map makers.

Thanks in advance

Hi, @Micky_T . Indeed the local guide or mapping officer there should add this road, not another resident. If you as local guide in the region there, maybe you should add the roads.

Hi @Micky_T ,

Local Guides like you, can add streets/roads on their own. The Google team will verify your edit and add them to maps (if they are found correct).

Here am attaching the steps to how to do so…

  1. Go to the location where the missing road should appear

  2. Tap the Contribute Tab at lower section.

  3. Click on Edit Map

  4. Now a send feedback tab will appear and on the 3rd one, you’ll find Add or fix a road - Click on that

  5. Click on Missing Road and a satellite map will appear, draw the road and add name and description (both are optional)

  6. Tap Send

Thank you,

Anshuk.

I’ve added roads before but these are large estates of roads and google satellite still doesn’t show the area so it can’t be verified.
