I will share my story about how I became involved in the Google local guides.
In one of the trips to my friends six years ago, we drove through a rather interesting place. Friends said that there are either ruins or the ruins of an old settlement nearby.
Because I am very interested in everything related to history, of course, the next morning, we went to see what this place is. Already on the way, it became clear that it was defensive in nature: huge water ditches and earthen ramparts up to 10 m high surrounded the once towering mound. Unfortunately, only remnants of former greatness have reached our days. But being there the power and energy of a once great place was felt. My imagination nimbly created castles, courageous battles and …
While still there, I began to google, what kind of place it was, but I did not find any information. There was no photo or description.
It was even a shame that under our feet lies a story about which no one knows. I wanted to tell everyone that here once people fought and died. In general, I took a photo and uploaded it to Google maps.
Two years later I received a letter from Google. I was informed that my photo was viewed by 2,000 users and that it was very helpful to others.
From the moment if I face with something interesting: it can be a fascinating view, an art object, a delicious cappuccino, a place connected with history, I will definitely share this with others.
Thanks google local guide for the incredible amount of raised interesting and relevant information!
