If you’re looking for an inexpensive hotel just outside the city, Vabua Asotel is the place. All rooms include breakfast. The hotel is close to shopping malls, restaurants and things to see. The Mall Bangkapi is very close and has 5 levels. There are numerous restaurants, and stores that will have almost anything you could want. The top level has a movie theater and a water park. Chatuchak Park is also close by and is the weekend market for your inexpensive souvenirs. You can also meet celebrity Chef Fernando who also does magic tricks. He makes a delicious paella that you must try. You can easily spend the entire day there. Don’t forget to try the smoothies. Terminal 21 is in the tourist district. It has 10 levels. There are many Western restaurants including one of my favorites, Tony Roma’s. There are all kinds of shops including inexpensive to upscale. Each floor has a different theme, London, San Francisco, New York, etc. Kanchanaburi is about a 2 to 2 1/2 hour train ride from Vabua Asotel where the Bridge on the River Kwai is located. The same bridge from the movie. You can walk the bridge over to Myanmar. There is also a WWII museum that is awesome. You can also ride the Death Railway Train. The Kanchanaburi City Hotel is steps away from the bridge, restaurants and the train ride. The hotel has an all-you-can-eat breakfast that you order off the menu.
@Julsgoodjob - this is great that you created a list to share with us here on Connect. I would suggest to improve and help fellow Local Guides know about these places you are recommending are for you to include your Local Guides reviews and a few of your photos you have personally taken to each of these places. Here is also a great post on how to create lists for Google Maps.
I also suggest you check out our Help Desk tab on the left to help familiarize yourself on how to use Connect and to write better Connect post.
Cheers,
Karen
Hello @Julsgoodjob ,
Thanks for sharing!
These information are very useful!
You’ve already shared a similar post, so I’m merging this to the other Where to Stay, Shop, Eat, and Educate Yourself in Bangkok, Thailand.
Thank you so much for better improvement.
