Where the food is tastier - in Europe or in Asia?

Travelling is my passion. I’m a beginner, so far, there are only ten countries on my list, but the number - it’s not very important, right? ? I like to travel to develop myself, broaden my horizons, meet new culture and new people. But also I love to eat and in this article I will give short overview of my favorite places to eat from two opposite points of the globe - North-Western Europe and South-East Asia. So, in Europe, let’s talk about interesting places from the gastronomic point of view, which are located in Belgium, and in Asia will take for considereation my favorite Thailand. Let’s go!

Belgium

What did I know about Belgium before my visit? A Northern country with a tasty beer and waffles, in fact these two points were required in my program of trip. But to my astonishment, when in the heart of Antwerp, not far from the train station, I found myself in a Lebanese diner “Mandarin”. Very colorful place, I decided to try the Shawarma and a few minutes later the waiter brought my order - in four (!) parts. I will describe in detail this composition. On a large plate was served roasted meat with vegetables, on two smaller plates - hot pita bread and French fries, and separately in five saucers different sauces, which were made to go as a great addition to the meat. All this pleasure cost me 10 euros. To my great regret, I could not cope with such a portion of food and stopped somewhere in the middle, so keep this in mind when you will attend this place.

By the way, this trip I have not tried waffles, so there is a reason to come back!

Thailand

Thailand is a Kingdom of smiles and street food. As one guide joked, Thais eat once a day - from morning to evening аnd it is difficult to disagree with this. Here, food surrounds you everywhere - there are a lot of street cafes, Thais cook right on the street on tuk tuks, mini-braziers and even on long-tailed boats. I love this simplicity and taste of real Thai cuisine, so every trip to Thailand I go to eat at night markets, another local attraction. And my list of required dishes here consists of two items - shrimps and green papaya salad.

I take shrimp just because I love seafood, but salad is a specialty of local cuisine.

Very juicy, spicy, fresh and delisious, it is always prepared in front of you. The taste is not so easy to describe, you need to try it by yourself.

So do I have an answer to my own question - where is the food tastier? There seems to be no answer. Each place is unique, everywhere anyone can find something suitable for him. And you have to go and open the world something of their own. This is my basic principle in travel. Bon appetit!
