Level 7 here almost 8 and I have never received a reward for any of this. How do I remove myself from Local Guides? Google is so cheap. Seems like this is all a lie, update your own content google maps. Or start paying me to do it.

In there you will read “Rewards are offered to Local Guides from time to time as a thank you for contributing great content on Google Maps. You may receive a reward because you’ve consistently shared high-quality contributions, reached a certain level, or often review a category related to a reward. Rewards may be offered to Local Guides in particular regions. To see where you are signed up for Local Guides, please visit your Local Guides settings.”
How do I remove myself from Local Guides? - Please read How do I change my Local Guides settings? “Should you ever choose to change your status in the program, you can visit our new opt-out page on your desktop or laptop”. Also please check this post (How to leave us ) by @MortenCopenhagen . It gives some interesting description of the different options

Please do not quit from Local Guides because people in your area ore some people want to go to your area depend on your review, rating and uploaded photos and videos.
AS far as my concern Google, Google Maps, Local Guides programme never lie. They will give some detailed explanation about anything that make Local Guides in doubt full position.
I found happiness of being a Local Guides.
