I started being a #LocalGuide because of pokemon Go. The augmented reality game motivated me to go out and explore new places from my own city I wasn’t used to. Maceió has great beaches, of course, but what I like the most to share on Google Maps is when I discover new places that can be as amuse as our local seashore, like parks, squares and even indoor entertainments.
As a motorcycle driver, I’m always trying to avoid traffic jam’s and get to places as fast as I can. To do so, Google Maps always helps me reveiling routes with intense traffic and suggesting me different ones to get to places. Thereby, whenever there is a construnction, an accident or a detour I grab my phone and I update it on Google Maps because I know it may help others drivers and reduce the flow of cars in that area. Also, taking new paths it’s been leading me to find myself unveiling new cultural or natural sites, restaurants and places to visit. Sometimes I feel like a tourist in my own city, and it’s been amazing.
