Meet up submission will get approved within 1-2 weeks, right? So do I have to arrange it for 3 weeks from now or even 4 weeks is better? Thanks

@Sandra1961 Normally it will not take weeks to get approval. Within two or three working days you will get the approval.

Thanks @AnuradhaP I’ve re-read the post https://www.localguidesconnect.com/t5/Let-s-Meet-Up/A-New-and-Improved-Meet-Up-Site/td-p/115383. It says within a week, my mistake for getting confuse with the other paragraph.
Anyway, is it sufficient to organise it for 10 days in advance? I’m considering that other LG doesn’t login here everyday.

@Sandra1961 , like @AnuradhaP said, the turn around time is a few working days. One of the other LGs got it approved within 2 days, so technically 10 days is more than sufficient to organize a meet up. However, what I would keep in mind is if you feel that is enough time to promote and market to your community. I’ve found in the past, it takes at least 3 weeks or so to build excitement and get people to talk about it. It also gives you the opportunity to promote it on the different social platforms. Have a look at the post here, it has some great tips for hosting first time meet ups

I’ve read your tips @Shirley . Thanks, I got the answer and I’ll try a 3 weeks notice coz it’s my first time and from what I’ve learnt there are no regular meet ups here. So, hopefully I give them enough time to mark their calendar. Thanks once again.

You’re welcome @Sandra1961 . Once your meet up is approved, it would be best to find your community on this map and try to use social media to post. Like you said, not everyone is on connect, a lot of people in my community are on the G+ page and we utilize that to get people interested. Along with facebook, twitter, etc.

No problem @Sandra1961 , just we, local guides have to check for the queries which are not solved by visiting various board’s and provide a solution(if known). I thought this topic has received an appropriate solution, so I told. Please don’t mine.
