Most of the content I share on social media isn’t about food. Instead, I enjoy creating content about remote work, digital learning, career opportunities, portfolio building, and practical tips for people who want to start working online. Along the way, I also share my volunteer experiences, cafés where I work, interesting places to visit, and local recommendations around Semarang.

I never expected that these positive and educational stories would catch the attention of so many people, including local MSMEs.

As a nano creator, I don’t have millions of followers. However, I believe authenticity matters more than numbers. Over time, several local businesses reached out and invited me to visit their soft openings and product launches, trusting me to create authentic content for my social media.

One of those invitations was from Baxo Jagoan, located on Jalan Kedungmundu Raya, Semarang.

During my visit, I was impressed by how clean and comfortable the place was. Unlike many traditional meatball shops, Baxo Jagoan offers a modern, air-conditioned indoor dining area. Its strategic location makes it convenient for students, office workers, remote workers, and families alike.

The menu has something for everyone. Besides their flavorful, meaty beef meatballs, they also serve chicken noodles, Mie Juwara, pempek, trendy snacks, and refreshing drinks. Prices start at around IDR 10,000, making it an affordable option without compromising quality.

As a Local Guide, I also enjoy exploring places through my own experiences and sharing honest observations that may help others when deciding where to visit. I believe every local business has a unique story, and highlighting them is one small way we can contribute to our communities.

Baxo Jagoan is just one of several inspiring local MSMEs I’ve had the opportunity to visit. In the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing more stories about local businesses around Semarang that deserve more recognition.

I hope these stories encourage fellow Local Guides to continue exploring, supporting local entrepreneurs, and sharing genuine experiences because every recommendation can help someone discover a wonderful local place.

I completely agree with you. @AjengSekar One thing I’d like to add is that on Google Maps and Local Guides Connect, success isn’t measured by millions of followers. What truly matters is authenticity, originality, trust, and the value of your contributions.

Honest reviews, original photos, and genuine experiences are what help people make better decisions and build credibility over time.

One suggestion I’d like to share is to start creating Lists on Google Maps. Curate lists of the best restaurants, cafés, tourist attractions, parks, or hidden gems in your local area. These lists become incredibly useful for others who ask for recommendations and also showcase your local knowledge.

Also, keep an eye on posts shared by Googlers on Local Guides Connect. They regularly introduce new challenges and activities for the community. Who knows—one day, one of your Google Maps Lists might even get featured. Just imagine how many people your featured list could help discover great places and make better decisions.

Mereka hanya mau saya buatkan vidio saja . Saya masih menimbang 2 mbak, saya takut mbak belum pernah soalnya . Just to clarify, the barter collaboration I mentioned was for creating content on my social media, not in exchange for a Google Maps review or a Local Guides contribution. This is a common practice for social media creators, where businesses invite us to create content for our own platforms.

My Google Maps reviews are always independent and based on my genuine personal experience. They are never influenced by any collaboration or compensation.

Sebenarnya ada 2 cara buat kerjasama sama brand atau UMKM/local bisnis ya. Pertama, kita yang dihubungi duluan sama brand. Biasanya mereka punya tim marketing atau KOL Specialist yang tugasnya cari content creator buat diajak kerja sama.

Kedua, kita yang jemput bola dengan kontak brand dulu sambil kasih media kit atau tunjukin performa sosmed kita, misalnya followers, viewers, ER (engagement rate), atau contoh konten.

Kalau menurutku, kalau brand-nya sesuai sama persona konten Mbak (misalnya skincare atau makeup), boleh banget dicoba. Aku juga beberapa kali dapat produk skincare buat direview. kalau kerjasama berbayar, biasanya ada kontraknya mba jadi resmi. Yang penting jangan sampai kita disuruh bayar yaa, hehe. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Oh iya, biar lebih yakin, coba cek juga nama orang yang nghubungin di LinkedIn. Kalau memang kerja di perusahaan itu, biasanya profilnya ada kok.

Saya masuk yang pertama mbak @AjengSekar saya di hubungi team yang mencari konten kreator gak di suruh bayar mbak malah kita di bayar dna bagi hasil gtu mbak cuma karena ini pengalaman perdana kok lgsg beberapa brand yang minta saya kok takut jadi sasaran empuk penipuan.
