Recently visited Peace Pagoda, Darjeeling, and glad to share that it’s now the cover photo of the iconic monument.
In fact, many of my photos are now cover photos of the places I add. Follow these simple tips to achieve the same:
- Always turn your location on while taking the photos
- Try to capture the entire monument in one photo, maybe by using the depth camera of your phone or panorama (not full).
- Upload it a month before the season time of that place. Season time is the time when footfall is the highest and people tend to search a lot.

Hello @thekosmix
This is great. Please accept my hearty congratulations for this achievements. Your photos must be of good quality then. Do you use mobile or a proper camera?
My 2nd question is what month(s) is the footfall of the year? That sounds interesting but I don’t fully understand the concept. Could you please share more. Keep winning and keep active
Happy guiding
Cheers

Thanks @SholaIB . To answer your questions:
- I only use a phone camera. Never even owned a proper camera/DSLR.
- Every place has a particular time of the year when people want to visit those places. For eg: Shimla, a hill station in India, mostly visited by families during winter/summer breaks. They generally plan for this vacation a month in advance and then they start researching about those places. Putting in your contributions just before that can give you more views (seems logical as I’ve experimented with this a lot, not sure how actual google’s algorithm work)
Keep contributing!
Hello @thekosmix
Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions. That’s a good discovery and hopefully it will be useful for other local guides.
You must be professional at the mobile photography then. Keep discovering and thank you for sharing these with us.
Happy guiding
Cheers
