Hi
I’m from Bangalore, I’ve been a local guide for over 2 years now and have finally climbed to level 8!! YiPEEEE!!
What initially started of as responses to the push message prompts from google to review a place, progressed to become a routine and evenually a Passion
I love photographing food, my wife generally helps me with the lighting in restaurants while curious waiters watch what we’re upto.
I make it a point to visit the most ICONIC food joints where ever I am, ofcourse ,going by recommendations on Google because I love experiencing what the locals enjoy .I look out for ‘Hole-in -the-wall’ eatouts, streetfoods and old restaurants.
Apart from Food and travel, my other passions include Heritage, I work with groups involved in Heritage conserving in my city.
Also Happy to have added 2 forgotten but important Heritage points on maps,
1: Great Trignometric Survey Basestation, which is in a state of neglect , talks are in progress to clean up the area and bring about awareness
2 Bangalore’s first Lamp post: (I was initially told that this was where the first light bulb in Asia was lit :O)
but on firther reading I got to know that it was indeed the first in Bangalore, but not in India.
Apart from these , there are Inscription stones which dot the city, unfortunately out of the 100s only 30 remain today.
These have been added to the maps as well, and works are in progress towards giving these stones the respect that it deserves
Through maps, it would be great to make the locals aware of these hidden treasures, this would bring pride to the community and in turn would help in preserving this for generations to come
