When mapping becomes a family affair

It all started with a wonderful nightmarish vacation. To be honest, every signs were telling me how bad an idea it was but I’m kinda stubborn. I have to admit it wasn’t that good of an idea to keep a 7 hour drive the day after my grandma’s funeral. Did I tell you that going to the funerals was a roundway trip of 6h totals… In and of itself, it might sound insane, but it wasn’t the straw that broke the camel back. I guess… I did all of this with 4 kids, aged from 1 to 6 year olds… So yeah, bad idea is bad.

We had to drive 5 hours with a 1year old crying because I was too stubborn to cancel my dream vacation. Let’s add to it a crappy hotel not looking like the pictures, at all. It came with a complementary hole in the bathtub that was so big I’m sure I could have lost my 1 year old in it. Sprinkled with the scenic bliss of getting stuck in traffic to go to the beaches. Overall, a really nice unpleasant and relaxing stressful vacation like no other.

Don’t think it all happened because I’m an air head! Not at all. I’m more the over planner kind of person. It’s just that I can’t seem to find the kind of info I need. Either I’m a weird person looking for family information or nobody cares enough or has the time to post about it.

Be the change you want to see in the world

So be it, if no one is helping me, I’ll help myself (and, hopefully, others at the same time). I might not have any free time due to my 4 kids. My agenda would make any president jealous. I’ll find time between the two o’clock tea with M. Teddy Bear and the skating lessons. If I’m not doing this, nobody will. In a world where going to a restaurant with 4 kids takes more planning than sending a man to the moon, every hint is more than welcome. Anything to reduce the chance of family existential crisis.

Personal checklist of things to mentions in my reviews

  • Is there a changing station in the men’s room Is mommy the only one that will have to deal with stinky situation?
  • What are the kids’ meal option How many picky eater won’t eat tonight?
  • Is there a family rate Does this outing cost a month’s mortgage?
  • Can you bring outside food Can you give your kids soggy sandwiches to afford the aforementioned mortgage?
  • Is there a play area available Can you have a mental breakdown in peace?
  • Any other info that can help a caretaker to keep his sanity while managing crisis.

Mapping is bringing my family together

With 4 kids, my non-family outing opportunities are like silence, a dream. As much as I would like to have fancy food pictures in my reviews, fast food is rarely Instagram’s worthy. In order to not only reviews McDonald’s and arenas, I have to come up with a new plan. Why not involve force my minions in my reviews? This brings infinite possibilities! Think about it, a kids’ place tested by true kids giving some real output about if the place is cool or not. Moreover, with 4 kids, I can experience the whole range of possible reactions in only one playdate. Talk about being efficient!

That’s how a mother and her 4 monsters start their first mission, going to every park in the city. But once more, this girl bites more than she can chew, and this project is still in progress. No big deals, the kids love exploring new parks and going in adventures. They’re always asking when we’ll go to a new place. Some of our family projects include and are not limited to :

Hi @SebaasC If my post made you laugh, then I’ve reached my goal

As for the baby changing station, we have more and more places with them. But some of the older buildings don’t have them. Even my local McDonalds didn’t have one until recently.
