The absolute beauty of this platform is that it allows explorers to document and share their journeys. Oddly enough I am listed as a “local guide” however the majority of my posts are from places more than 100 miles from where I live. The funny thing about this is that to me I have been aptly titled because wherever I go I explore the native scene not the tourist scene. In order to truly understand where you are my belief is that you cannot succumb to the global marketing machine put out by each countries’ tourism board. No I am not saying that it is ALWAYS propaganda however there is nothing like feeling like a native when you are thousands of miles from home. Having this experience allows you to leave with just that, an experience, a new way of thinking, a story to tell and many times the possible solution to a problem. Through my posts I encourage explores to safely traverse the world and learn of the unknown, see the rarely touched, breathe the rarely breathed air and behold the rarely seen people and wildlife of each nation. I hope that all who take this journey with me are enlightened and encouraged to seek, search and most importantly share. Remember, “Local is where you land.”
