There was a time when I would never take my phone and contribute to any service… but life was changed when I started to travel a lot and work in IT. As a traveler, I am very unexpected and can make a decision to have a trip in a day and the next day pack everything and go. I was arriving at the venue and starting to organize everything on the spot starting from the hotel reservation until finding attractions. So guess who was my guide… of course, Google Maps! After having several successful unexpected trips with the help of Google Maps I started my contribution as a Local Guide to help others to have the same wonderful experience.
I had another phase of contribution when I moved to live in Berlin. Again I was new in the huge city without any support I was getting all needed support from Google Maps and was continuing to contribute. As I was working remotely from Germany I was going to cafes to work from cafes and was collected all work friendly cafes in my Google Maps lists and was sharing with people. This also helps me to have my travel history. Usually, I staring everything I like while traveling and sharing with my friends if they go to the same places.
Here is the summary of my travel history for the last years:
and this is how looks like cities that I traveled/lived in my Google Maps:
And finally about the contribution in Armenia. I was born and live mostly in Armenia. When the war in Syria was started lots of Syrian Armenians moved to live in Armenia and started a new business culture in Armenia, especially in fields of restaurants. I was trying to do my best to make their business accessible in virtual life. I cannot say how successful was I in this but at least I tried to do something for these small and newborn businesses.
I any case I like to say “Sharing is caring!”
