When Editing roads, do you change road endings?

I have been looking through some newly developed areas and I am finding that often the road “dead ends” when in fact there is a circle at the end. Does anyone edit these and if so, are they accepted as “fixing” a road?

@Rednewt74 que buena pregunta, yo no se la respuesta, pero me parece super interesante! Estaré pendiente, una observación que a mi se me ha escapado… :astonished:

Hello @Rednewt74 ,

Personally I think it would be a little redundant. Navigation wise, this is fine because the nearest drivable point would just show up to you and you’ll get navigation from that point.

I’m sure our expert @ErmesT could tell you something more about this.

Thank you for the tag, @Lukas_1 .

Hi @Rednewt74 , this is a good question, and I think it can help many people. My personal answer in in line with what Lukas said: no, it is a redundant information, because it is the end of the road. It may have a bit of sense to draw it as a roundabout only if there’s an empty area inside, but as it is just a larger part at the end of the road I will avoid that.

Also please keep in mind that Google normally do not accept the edit if you only modify a shape of a road, due to the “Low priority” of this kind of changes.

On a side note, I want to add that I asked Google to provide a tool to draw circles, to have in the future a better tool also to add perfect roundabouts. Maybe one day we will have it

@ErmesT , thank you for your response regarding ends of roads. When I started looking at some new developments, I noticed that some had the circle included in the path and others just had the road terminating in the center of the circle. I do see how it is redundant.
