What's your favourite Farmers Market?

I love going to Farmers Markets, to get fresh fruit and vegetables and other farm fresh foods. My wife and always stock up on fruit, vegetables, eggs, and cheese.

Sometimes we will enjoy fresh hot food to eat at the market with coffee, or sometimes a beer. In Prague during the winter, we always enjoyed hot wine.

My list of favourite farmers markets are list here.

My favourite are in Prague, Czech Republic. The food is great and the atmosphere is fantastic, mixing with both locals and tourists.

Hi @TheEagleEye ,

Farmers Markets are great, but where I live, for some reason they are much more expensive than in the supermarket. I’m not sure what’s the point and how they would get people to buy more from Farmers Markets. Here mostly you will find meat, dairy, chocolate and crafts in those markets, but I just never bought anything as it’s double the price. I think they need to make it a bit cheaper to be affordable for everyone.

Thanks!

Yes @DanniS many markets do charge more than a supermarket but that’s what you get when it is fresh. There are some markets around the world that try and get higher prices for their produce for not so fresh foods.

There are however many markets that have rules when it come to being a supplier at the market, such as it has to be local, and has to be fresh from farm. Some market proprietors check on the credentials of the market holder. I can taste the difference between fresh and not so fresh foods.

It remind me of Belgorod city where I used to visit farmers market at Sunday morning. Farmers market is a good place to buy fresh and cheap produce at a give away price. I also enjoyed the atmosphere. It is usually colour with a lot of produce and with farmers coming villages and suburbs

Thanks for reply @Emmik20 . I agree that the atmosphere in a good farmers Market is a big drawcard.
