What's your "Favorite photo spot"?

I live in Israel in a town called Arad and I was raised here.
I visited many places and I love photography.
There is one thing I know that every photographer (Professional or not) has his “Favorite spot” ?

For me personally it is a nice lookout with a beautiful statue next to my home!
How lucky Hu? ?

What is your Favorite Photo spot?

My hometown (Basically a little city) Arad was founded in 1962 and is located on the border of the Judean desert and the Negev desert.
The people that started this settlement where art loving people and back in 1962 they collected money from all the families in the settlement for building this magnificent piece of art in the heart of the desert on one of the towns best lookout points.
This was probably the first “crowd sourcing” campaign is Israel’s history ?
Back to our story, the statue was made by Igael Tumarkin an Israeli artist that had created no less than 80 outdoor sculptures in Israel and around the world.

The name of this lookout is Moav Lookout and the official name in hebrew is: “EL MOAV” (אל מואב) meaning: “to Moab”.
It overlooks the Moab mountains on the back, the dead sea, the Kanaim valley, down south to mount Sodom and much more!
This place is one of my favorite places to just sit, relax, enjoy the air and the silence and of course taking nice photos ?

Here are some photos I took there over the past 10 years ?

picture 4 is my utmost favorite!

In a starry night, it almost looks like an abandoned star wars ship. I love it!

My favorite Photo spot is in front of my mirror becausein front of my Mirror I can be anything or anyone, even the President of the United States.

@JoniG

I wonder if Osama @OSAMA_1 _ has been here. I wonder how far away from Amman, Jordan this place is.

Nice shots.

Maintaining a favorite spot for 10 years tells a whole lot!

Wow @Ewaade_3A thank you so much.

I am a huge Star Wars fan and I was extra flattered

I love the idea about the spot in front of the mirror! It’s cool thinking

I live about 100km from Amman Jordan but in real life it’s much more to drive (more about 400).

I visited Jordan a couple of times and loved it very much!

Of course you are invited anytime.

Awww, I meant every word! Wow! I can only imagine what you are talking about, a place may be 100km away but the road one can tread may be more in kilometres.

Wow! happy to meet a Star Wars fan. @JoniG

Salam @JoniG :sunglasses: .

It’s similar. Area there in Arad and here in Jordan :jordan: . It’s originally one land before thousands of years . Same Sands color, same terrain, and …etc.

As you can see Jordan, we can see you there haha. There are a high mountains here to allow us to watch your areas like you do the same as you stated  .

Well, the photos of the sculptures are beautiful, but I can’t imagine how a sculptures’ place in the desert! Either its an open range Museum, or …! I see it’s good those sculptures to be inside a building. Hey @Ewaade_3A thanks so much you mentioned me to see a part from very close area to.me. it’s good to know and to see this art in a close desert from me.

Very Respectfully

Greetings from Amman

Wow @OSAMA_1 I am so happy to meet other LG’s from neighboring countries!
I want just to remind that this land was one land for thousand of years up until less than 100 years.
I learn a lot about Jordan and I visited a couple of times the southern part of Jordan.

It is funny to know that on the other side of the valley sits another person just like me
and enjoys the same thing just like me only he is watching the other way at me basically.

I hope the borders will open as soon as we finish with this pandemic madness and I get back to travel.
North Jordan is on my bucket list :slightly_smiling_face:

Hey @JoniG ,

This is awesome! Was it too hard to learn? Did you first practice with something else?

Hey @TsekoV

This is pretty easy.

It’s a long exposure trick you can learn on youtube.

What we did was: Tying a piece of steel wool on a metal string, lighting it and spin it in air while shooting at least 30sec-1min of long exposure image.

I used to love photography tricks :face_with_hand_over_mouth:
