What's the reason behind behind Google map doesn't accept a name change edit

i want to know from experts here what’s the reason behind Google many times doesn’t accept the edit of half or full name of a place even if It’s unclaimed or unvarified and name is wrong on Google map.

And many times the correct name is already mentioned in photo of that place attached in map

Why it happens what’s the solution

Many times i Visit a place that place banner or name has different in hindi or english and on Google map it’s different when i try to correct it says it could not verify why? Please experts here guide me i don’t know it only happens in india or in every country

@Manojktiwari

Short answer: To fend off spammers.

Please read Why is my edit status “Pending” or “Not Applied”? if you haven’t already done so.

You may also find How to make sense of Google’s responses to your edits interesting since Approved, Not applied, and Pending are explained in more detail.

And recently I posted How to get Edits and New Places Approved with lots of tips that could be relevant for you.

Thanks you Very much Sir! You answered because of spammers Google doesn’t accept the name change edit but what if the photo or banner of that place also matches my edit! and the same place name on Google map is wrong in that case what should i do

And sometimes many place has spelling mistake and Google does not verify when i make it correct

Few days ago there was a restaurant in my area it has wrong name on map “food Cercle” it was not claimed by owner. but on his restaurant banner correct name was mentioned “food Circle” and the photo of that restaurant was attached in map, i tried to edit it correctly as mentioned in photo of the restaurant but Google did not accept then i have to take help of a level 10 local guide then it accepted by Google!

It was a small spelling mistake but Google did not accept the correct spelling when i suggested

So in future in same cases what should i do?

No one knows for sure what you need to do. But I would recommend that you focus on making edits that are very sure to get approved. With more approved edits of the different types over time you will see your approval rate increase. That has been my strategy to get more and more edits approved.

Listen to the feedback you get from Google on each and every edit. And only make single edits. So you know exactly what edits you get approved easily. And make more of those.

I hope this helps.

PS Please carefully read the links I already shared with you.

Ok i am gonna read again the Link provided by you, thanks again sir i will try to do as you said

But you said focus on editing which is sure to be approved

  1. Sir how will i know which of my edit has highest chance to get approved because most of the time i only edit when i have exact detail of that place, photo of that place where i visited!

  2. You said listen to feedback of Google on edit

Google does not give any feedback on edit rejection it simply notify me your edit could not be verified so it would not be published

No matter how many photo and other proof i provide. @MortenCopenhagen

Fair questions, @Manojktiwari .

Listening to the feedback is using what edits go pending, get rejected or approved. That is all Google is giving us, but if used systematically you can really progress.

I explained this in the second link (how to make sense).

One single edit by one single edit. Trust me it works.

Believing that your photos and word will be sufficient evidence for Google is plain wrong. Do the pre-verification I explain in the last of the 3 links.

Finally, your frustration is very understandable and justified. I’m just trying to help you how to compensate for the system that focuses so much on blocking spammers.

Your approval rate can easily reach 50. And at times I’m able to reach 90 percent of my edits get approved.

Cheers
