I would like to share my story with Google Local Guides briefly. It’s been a long time that I use Google Maps because I really like traveling, however, I stay at home or while I’m busy with my job or studying I still search for new locations and start learning about many places. But when I have a trip for a new place the first thing I do is that to know where exactly is that location and I start figuring out where are the directions, after that, I save it on the maps as memory if i have already visited or I put it on the list of " Want to go".
I really don’t know exactly since when I have been using Google Maps! But as far as I can recall it’s been more than nine years.
From here on I would like to tell you a few interesting things that I have experienced so far.
All of these interesting things started from that time that I joined the Local Guide. When I started reviewing and adding some pictures and reviewing a few places that I had visited I got an email to join Local Guides! What? I told myself what’s this? And I started searching and collecting information on the topic.
When I realized how can my reviews and my pictures help thousands of people, I immediately started joining the program, because I love to help people, and I’m that kind of person who reads other’s reviews and I really consider them. That’s only the beginning. So after that wherever I have gone instantly I remembered others and started taking some photos and uploading them on the Maps with few words that I knew they help hundreds, but this might be something simple and might not be the fascinating aspect!
The interesting aspect is that when you upload your photos and you see them after few days the views are rising and notice that how few pictures can support a bunch of people, at that time you feel incredible because that’s a little thing that you can leave it for other to imagine how the place looks like before they take their first steps towards that spot.
I can definitely take a few minutes each day to help other people by reviewing and sharing some photos. Another interesting thing is that whenever I post my photos and I notice that they became the top photos to appear in the places, that’s really amazing. But the most fascinating part is that whenever you add or suggest an edit on Maps after few minutes you get an email tells you that "Your suggestion has been accepted " that is the most fascinating part because you will be considered as a reliable source of information.
Because whenever you suggest something you are one hundred percent sure of your suggestion. These are just a few interesting aspects that any local guide can witness, but from person to person it is absolutely different in the way of what can be the most interesting part.
I hope I can find more and more things that can motivate me to contribute more with my surroundings.
