What's the most interesting thing you've done as a Local Guide?

Over the past seven years, I’ve found that I’m a bicyclist at heart. Taking in the world on two wheels is a passion of mine, and the Local Guide program has been instrumental for sharing that passion of exploring new and unfamiliar places. As a Local Guide, the most interesting thing I’ve done is add photographs and places to Google Maps. A Google, “Year in Search 2017” television commercial was a source of inspiration for a personal journey during 2018. I’ve bicycled across the United States (summer of 2018) and around the United States (multitude of routes) in an effort to raise awareness and donations for pancreatic cancer research. A vast majority of these photographic contributions arise from touring on by bicycle. Many of these contributions are from rural areas, which I feel are underrepresented, and the Local Guide program has been instrumental in allowing me to share these unique, sometimes bygone, places.
