Hello all beautiful souls,
Myself Razonno Mugdha, from Dhaka capital of Bangladesh. Professionally I am working in Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS), national trade body for software & IT industry of Bangladesh. This is how I met @SumaiyaZafrin apu while working on a project. I am already shared in one of post regarding my story of becoming a Local Guide. Thanks a ton, Apu. You are the reason of my today’s contribution. You are my main inspiration.
After that program, I have had the fortune of attending many women conferences, focus groups and many more. As I am joined local guides program after that, since then, I have some dream/ideas to create the map women friendly.
Here are some of my steps:
Create a list: As I have one baby boy and working woman. Where ever I am going, I am thinking about safety and comfortable and friendly option for all the ladies. I know all the problems, females/women are facing always. That’s why I reduced my responsibility to make the map friendly for women. I know, how important my created list is for all the working ladies, as well as housewives. Keeping in mind the various issues of women, I have added some of the listings mentioned below:
- Baby Daycare Center for Working Women
- Women Lead IT Companies_Bangladesh
- Restaurant with Kids play zone in Dhaka
Adding Places: The adding new place in map is one of my favorites. Where ever I go, I want to find out the place in map and always try to add the missing place in the map. It’s also a great opportunities for me to create places that add to the map will help women. I already added some new places thinking about women in my local areas.
Here’s a look at one of the places I’ve added and my personal impact:
Veg Bhai: Some time ago my uncle opened a new cafe. One day I turned around and noticed on the map, there was no cafe on the map. Then I added this café named “Veg Bhai” in the map. I also added some food pictures, menu and contact number and other details in the map. One fine day, I have a notification regarding one person’s Question about this café. I answer this question. And then, after 2-3 days my uncle was surprised to call me and said, after seeing the phone number in the map where I added his cafe, one person gave him a call. How good it was to hear Uncle’s words that day, I can’t explain.
Travelling and gather knowledge: Traveling increases our knowledge and widens our perspective. Personally, I love traveling to new places and learning about new foods, new cultures. And obviously, I always add review, photos and missing information to the maps. After joined to Local Guides Connect, I already wrote some of my travelling stories.
BDLG Community & Meet-up: In one of the good month in 2019, I found the BDLG community Facebook group. And then, in November, 2019 I attended in my 1st Meet-up. It’s a BDLG’s 123rd Meet-up. It’s a really good meeting with 184 local guides. There are some good hearts, who are always ready to provide all kinds of help. I am really grateful for all of them.
Many people ask me, what are the benefits of being a Local Guides? I say in one word, I can help the people around me. More simply, peace of mind!
Yess… I am doing this for my own piece of mind. So, hopefully, this is how I can help people, as well as myself.
I see the way, I show the way…… Happy Guiding….
