I’m a Local Guide level 7
I want to share why for me being a Local Guide it’s a whole experience for me and very interesting for my life.
When I started to share photos, opinions, feedbacks, answering questions, videos, adding missing places on Google Maps I did it just because it was an interesting hobbie even without being a professional photographer just a normal person who is always trying to catch the best picture and share it, then I realized that little by little I was becoming a local guide.
Since I was a kid I’ve been living in different places, I’ve known a lot of people, famous places, touristic places of the country I live which is Mexico. When I had to move to other city and meet people who was curious about where I came from so I decided to share my experience with my words and memories traying to make them an idea the place that I just left.
In this way I’ve been promoting places in Mexico for people from around the world to come and take a look all the gorgeous touristic places than Mexico could offer you, that’s why I love posting on Google Maps every time that I could.
Using Google Maps like my GPS, suddenly I realized about Local Guide, but I didn’t know too much of this, so I started looking for more information about it. So then, I began to take photos for every place that I visited, writing about my experiences of any place like restaurants, parks, malls and museums, also I knew how to make questions and answer them.
For me, Local Guide it was the wonderful way to share everything that I wanted to share, so every time that I made a trip for any touristic place in Mexico or even my first trip abroad to Japan I made sure to take the best pictures and share my feelings and experiences through my photos, opinions and videos.
But then I realized that the people sometimes asked me information about any place that I uploaded on Local Guide they used to asked me questions trying to know for example the price of a museum or if any place it was worth to visit so I could understand that being a Local Guide it’s not just upload photos or writing opinions it’s more like create a whole community where people like me could help people that really need the great labor that we do.
Even I had to upload some places that was missing on Google Maps or put the first opinion from a restaurant or a small business and all of sudden I realized that I was becoming popular with my photos so in that moment I could understand the amazing connection among people and us as Local Guide it’s not only write or upload photos it’s the net we create.
Finally I didn’t even know about the Connect Live so when I received the mail from Google it was really amazing and also it was an encourage for keep working hard making experiences through everything that I can upload on Google Maps and make them feel the same that I feel when I take the best pic!
I’m always trying to keep sharing as much as I could with the idea for helping people and they could see all my experiences and reconnect people from all the countries in only one app just making this world a better place.
