I love to travel & be adventurous be it on a trip or in real life because that keeps me alive. I love to explore untouched, unreached, unexplored places. I started using social media to let others know about the place. Friends, colleagues wanted to know more about it, so that they could visit. That’s how I became guide to people I knew & who were within my circle of reach. Later on I was introduced to Local Guides concept. I love being Local Guide as my posts are viewed, valued & helpful to many others globally. The platform has given me to connect to everyone who is in need of information. I am able to help in small way.

Also doors were opened for me to get connected to detailed info & local guides. Here’s one of the place that I recently visited.

‘Chadar Trek’ - The Ice Walk on the frozen Zanskar River

This trek is all about persistence & survival in extreme harsh weather conditions at sub-zero temperatures. Reminds me of Survival of the fittest…#DarwinTheory … “It is not the strongest or the most intelligent who will survive but those who can best response to the change/adapt well!!"

This experience also made us ponder how do soldiers survive on borders for months, years protecting our nation in such extreme weather conditions…

While trekking in one of the most inhabitable region, you come across the most mesmerizing frozen waterfalls on the frozen trail of Zanskar which spreads out like a “Chadar”

Frozen Waterfall just feels like #God & nature were playing #StatueStatue

Temperatures on the trek varied from -15° in the day to -30° in the night depending on extremely unpredictable sunny, cloudy, windy, breezy climate.

2019 year it was extreme record breaking temperatures recorded.

We met localites, got to know their way of living. They accompanied us for trek & also took care of our daily food requirements. The more important was their will power & confidence to ensure all the trek members safely reach back base camp as weather conditions were very much fluctuating.

Most important part, was the group, crazy people in the group to support, help & enjoy the trek.

We all had crazy times- before trek, clearing our medical tests & on trek- dumb charades(acting skills were superb), Antakshari, Ice Skating.

Formed new family-friends.

Dates:- 22nd January 2019 - 26th January 2019
